Gary L.Nicholson Sr.
Henderson, Kentucky
My
precious Gary was a devoted son who loved
spending time with his Mama. Gary came to visit me a lot. He
loved taking me out to eat at steak houses. He also loved to
talk. We talked almost everyday. Many times he would call me
on his cell phone on his way to work and on his way home.
If a storm was coming he would call and warn me about it.
I dearly miss talking to my son.
Gary
had such a kind heart and a wonderful sense
of humor. He loved to tease people and make them laugh. My Gary
played the bass guitar. He was the best I ever heard. I was so
proud he used his musical gift to play for the Lord. Some of my
happiest memories are of me and my sons playing music together
in church. When we meet again in heaven I'll get on the piano
and Gary will take out his guitar and we'll play "Amazing Grace
How Sweet the Sound."
Gary
had a wife and two grown sons, Lynn and Jerry.
Although he was a wonderful family man and provider, in his early
adulthood, Gary was a materialistic person..."Things" meant everything
to him. One day while he was lying on his sickbed he said to me,
"Mom, you know material things don't matter at all." Gary had learned,
through the trials of life, to value people, not worldly possessions.
And he knew that Jesus was more important than all the world's
gold. He also has two brothers whom he loved, Chuck and Tommy.
I love my baby and miss him so much. I cry secret tears for him
every day.
A
Brokenhearted Mom
Throughout his life Gary always felt comfortable talking to me. He shared many personal hurts with me. As a mother it was hard to see the pain he endured. The secrets my son shared will always be held in confidence. I will not dishonor my precious son's wishes and discuss them. Even though my son suffered I'm thankful that the Lord helped him to forgive and he held no grudges against anyone. Gary knew I had been a good mother and had sacrificed for my children. As I got older he wanted to make sure I had the necessities of life. When the doctor told my baby that he only had a short time to live he asked his wife to take care of me. She promised him she would.

Thank You Mom
I'm sitting here, I'm thinking back to a time when I was young, my memory is clear as day, I'm listening to the dishes clink, You were downstairs, you would sing songs of praise, and all the times we laughed with you, And all the times that you stayed true to us, Now we say, I said, I thank you, I'll always thank you, more than you could know, Than I could ever show, and I love you, I'll always love you, there's nothing I won't do to say these words to you, That you're beautiful forever, you were my mom, you were my dad, the only thing I ever had was you, It's true, And even when the times got hard you were there, to let us know that we'd get through, you showed me how to be a man, you taught me how to understand the things people do, You showed me how to love my God, you taught me that not everyone knows the truth, And I thank you, I'll always thank you, more than you could know, Than I could ever show, And I love you, I'll always love you, There's nothing I won't do to say these words to you, that you will live forever, always..

I
loved listening to my Mom play the piano. She could really tickle those Ivories.
They called her Piano Lady. I really haven't gone anywhere mom. I'm there in
your heart and I'm praying for you. I'll See you soon. Jesus is Coming and I'll
be With Him. Your Loving Son, Gary.
