Memory Of My Mother

In
my grief at losing my Mother, I walked in the Snow Trying to cope and understand
how I could'ntt personally say good by to her.
I
looked up at the grey-colored sky, as I shivered in the cold, With tears streaming
down my face and a broken heart.
My
mind flashed back to all the memories we shared, even across the miles. The laughter,
the serious talks and the many special occasions.
Then
I saw You, Lord, with your footprints in the snow, so soft and so light. Like
a gentle touch that comes in the midst of pain and sorrow or the
darkest night.
Lord,
I said, Why could I not say good by to my mom the way I wanted to? Why did
my physical limitations keep me from traveling so far to be by her side?
He
took me and lifted me in to His arms and carried me through the snow, as he explained
why thing were the way they were.
He
said, Daughter, you did say good by to your mother. I said to him,
How can this be? I do not understand.
He
held me a little tighter and said, You said good-by to her by what you did
when you told her you loved her. You said good- by to her by telling her
she was free to come unto me and you would take care of your father for her. You
said good-by with the hymns you sang to her in her ear each day on the phone;
even when you were not sure she could even hear them. She did. Daughter,
I was with you when you knew the week and a half before she died that she would
and you cried. I held you in my arms and cried with you.
Then
He said, The years will come and go from here but I will always be with
and carry you when you need to be carried. I have been with you all these years,
as you have been with me. As I carry you with one set of footprints in the snow,
so shall you continue to walk in my footsteps all the days of your life.
Always
with Love & Hugs;
In
His Service;
